DIU Top Ten

1. DIU offers the only undergraduate University programs in Diplomacy and in International Business in the Republic of Croatia.
2. Our curriculum as well as our community of faculty, students and staff are internationally oriented, and have close ties to University programs abroad. DIU is fully organized according to the Bologna system. Moreover, as DIU programs are modeled upon and in partnership with leading academic and research institutions, our students are afforded great mobility in their education.
3. DIU is committed to fostering dialogue and strong bonds between its faculty and students; we accept no more than 30 students per group in each program.
4. We are dedicated to creating a personalized approach towards each of our students. All students are assigned a student advisor and, in their second year, an academic advisor who together are charged with guiding and aiding them both in their studies at DIU and throughout professional and academic lives.
5. Classes are taught in the English language, thus facilitating the continuation of studies abroad or employment in international organizations and private sector companies.
6. DIU professors have extraordinary experience in both academic and professional life: they have taught at institutions such as Harvard University, Princeton University, the London School of Economics and University of Sorbonne, and have served as Ministers, Ambassadors, executives in major international banks and firms, and as representatives to the United Nations, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
7. During their first year, all students are required to take courses in communication and writing skills, which develop their analytical and critical reasoning abilities, refine their capacities to engage in productive debates and public speaking, and train them to successfully and concisely communicate in written, academic form. At DIU, we strongly believe that effective communication and writing are the key determinants of success in both professional and academic life.
8. Students are awarded the opportunity to study, learn and exchange ideas and experiences with a diverse and international faculty and students from all over the world.
9. DIU provides scholarships based on academic excellence and financial need, and has developed a system of specially designed student loans.
