SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY

An introduction to the scientific study of social thought and behavior, the course will be split into three main parts. Unit I (Overview of Social Psychology) will be an overview of the field and main research within it, including an introduction to social experiments and social psychology in historical perspective. Unit II (The Social Mind) will focus on the individual within society, and will include topics such as obedience, attitude change, self-awareness, social cognition, and the conscious will. Unit III (Social Interaction) will focus on relationships between individuals, and will include topics such as interpersonal attraction, stereotyping and prejudice, group processes, cultural differences, and applied aspects of social psychology.
