In light of the recent implementation of the Lisbon Treaty, the monetary developments in Greece and the EU's sometimes undefined position towards EU enlargement, the issues surrounding the future of the European Union are greater than ever. This class offers a detailed look at the historical development of the European Union (EU), the practical functioning of its institutions, the dynamic of its enlargement, and its politics. Part of the course will be dedicated to an analysis of Croatia's relations with the EU and the progression of this relationship from candidacy talks to accession negotiations.
