Professors and Staff
Much of the strength of the education offered by the Dubrovnik International University comes from its first-rate faculty, all of whom have established successful academic and professional careers. DIU has attracted a group of leading Croatian and global scholars and academics who teach at the University on a permanent basis. Additionally, DIU is proud to welcome a great number of distinguished visiting professors each semester, who enrich DIU’s curriculum and impart students with invaluable experiences and expertise on a range of international issues. These visiting professors – who are present at the University for any length of time ranging from several weeks to a year – teach courses they specialize in at their home Universities, allowing DIU students to benefit from their unique knowledge and interests.
DIU’s community of renowned international scholars includes professors that have taught at Harvard University, Princeton University, the London School of Economics, University of Sorbonne, New York University, University of Virginia Law School, and many other leading educational institutions in Europe, the United States and the world.
Besides being academically successful, all of DIU’s professors have served as active practitioners in their chosen field: they represent a group comprised of former Ambassadors; Ministers; economists; economic advisors to governments; CEOs; practitioners of international law; military generals; artistic directors; representatives to the World Bank, the United Nations, the International Labor Organization, the OSCE, the International Monetary Fund and other prominent international institutions; private sector entrepreneurs; managers of multinational corporations and banks; and leaders of civil society and non-governmental organizations.
This combination of academic prestige and real-world experience ensures that DIU students are exposed to programs and courses that balance the theoretical with the practical.
