When you begin studies at Dubrovnik International University, you become partners with us in an extraordinary learning experience. The faculty at DIU believes that education is a collaborative effort. In an atmosphere that nurtures initiative, responsibility and openness, we invite students to explore a program that provides a solid intellectual foundation with a practical approach. Our professors are well recognized and qualified academically in their fields, and more importantly, they have successfully applied their knowledge and skills in business, government, and non-profit work. We are passionate about guiding students towards achieving their potential. By setting high standards of scholarship and by promoting opportunities to think analytically about real life issues, DIU embraces competence and creativity.

DIU’s mission is to form the leaders of tomorrow’s increasingly global and interconnected world. In our classrooms, we stress a willingness to explore new approaches, test diverse ideas and present coherent arguments. We emphasize both individual and team effort, and insist on respect for ethical values. DIU’s program of course work includes theory and practice, and is both intercultural and interdisciplinary—qualities necessary to function in a complex and ever-changing global environment. Our primary language of instruction is English. We provide practical training in both oral and written communication so that our graduates have the skills to influence and persuade across cultures.

From its start, DIU is organized using the European Union’s higher education modernization principles. Our curriculum is based on the European Credit Transfer System, which fosters attainable educational goals within a fixed time frame and encourages exchange throughout Europe and North America. In small group settings, students consistently interact with professors and staff. Located within the walls of the historic City of Dubrovnik, noted for its accomplishments in trade and diplomacy, DIU offers students an attractive setting to study, think and dialogue across disciplines and borders.
